What is Bean Sprout Pillow?

 

It is a pillow filled with bean sprout husks used for newborn babies/infant. This method of making pillow has been for many years. I used to have one too.

These bean sprout husks are the "shell" (kernel) from the bean sprout we bought for cooking. With proper handling, they are recycled for better usage.

Why do babies used such pillow? This is because Newborn babies/infant are very prone to be shocked or frightened by sudden movement and noise caused in their surrounding. When that happens, they will feel a lack of security and will keep on crying. They will get easily agitated, parents will find it difficult to handle them. Exposure to constant fright or shock, they will become less confident and will cling more to their mummies.

By placing the bean sprout pillow horizontally over the infant/babies tummy when they are asleep, they will feel a sense of security and comfort. As the bean sprout husks are porous and light weighted, they are safe for use on newborn babies/infant. In addition, these bean sprout pillows are cooling too

What is Taggies blanket?
